BUNUTAN - NORTH EASTERN BALI - KARANGASEM

After 1909, this area was used as a place of exile for those who were guilty or those who were considered to have dared to oppose the King. The population exiled agreed to name this area BUNGUTAN, which comes from the word bungut (mouth) because they were berbungutlah (dared to speak up). BUNGUTAN changed to the name BUNUTAN until now.
